SUMMER BEGINS FOR SURE

Well, school ends on Tuesday for the kids. This is a little bit of a late ending as they had to make up for some snow days. We have had our fist summer storm. Last night the rain drenched, the lightning cracked and the tornado sirens whistled, but all is calm and beautiful today.

Kira will take Calculus this summer at the U, so she can have a little bit lighter load her senior year. She just finished taking the SATs and hopefully will be happy with her score. Senior pictures, senior awards and all sorts of things await her.

Trevor went to his first boy/girl party at a friend's house on Friday, and on Saturday he will attend the 6th grade Dance/Party at school. "Hollywood Night of the Stars" is the theme. His last hurrah before Junior High.

Connor had an intersting week. He was in such pain on Wednesday night we almost had to take him to the ER. Come Thursday am we went to the doctor wher he was diagnosed with Toxic Synovitis. http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/000981.htm
Ends up it typically hits kids his age after a respiratory infection when the body keeps trying to fight off infection, and then attacks the hip joint. Treatment recommended was rest, but to keep moving the joint and use Tylenol for pain. Doctor said it would go away as suddenly as it came on and it did!!!! He was fine by Saturday and ran the 50 and the 400 in the Hershey Track meet here.

Nathan is finally finished compiling stats from his state championship track season, so maybe we will begin to see more of him.
I have my pre-prospectus meeting for my dissertation, and hope to begin data collection by mid summer.
Cheers!!!!
